Canberra industries I've built for

Government-adjacent & consulting

Contractors, consultancies, and advisory firms working around the public service need a site that reads as credible to a procurement panel, not just a customer — clear capability statements, real case studies, no vague agency-speak.

Professional services

Accountants, lawyers, and advisers across Civic and the Parliamentary Triangle who need a site that signals trust fast, in a market where reputation travels quickly between a small number of firms.

Trades & construction

Builders and trades serving Canberra and the surrounding ACT region, competing for jobs where a professional site is still the exception rather than the rule.

Health & allied health

Clinics and practices across Canberra suburbs built around online bookings and the trust signals a new patient needs before their first visit.

Why hand-coded, not WordPress

Canberra has fewer web agencies than Sydney, and a lot of local sites still run on the same WordPress template with a logo swap — which is fine until a competitor turns up with something faster and sharper, and suddenly stands out simply by not looking the same as everyone else.

Every site I build is hand-coded from scratch. It ships exactly what it needs and nothing else, which is most of why it loads fast, ranks well, and doesn't need a developer on retainer every time you want to change a sentence.

Canberra is a smaller market than Sydney, and a lot of it runs on word of mouth and existing relationships — but the first thing most people still do before a meeting or a referral call is look you up. The site needs to hold up to that check, not just exist.

A developer, not a template shop

I'm a software engineer first, so the same engineering standards I would apply to a production codebase go into a small-business website.

That matters in Canberra as much as anywhere: a capability statement page that needs to hold up to a procurement panel, or a booking form that pushes straight into your CRM.

Canberra & ACT areas

I work with businesses across Canberra and the wider ACT region remotely — no travel fees, and the process is built around calls and shared docs rather than in-person meetings.

Common questions

Straight answers before you ask for a quote.

How much does web design cost in Canberra?

Projects typically start from $3,000–$5,000 for a custom-built site, depending on scope and complexity. I give you a fixed quote within 48 hours — no hourly rates, no scope creep.

Are you based in Canberra?

I'm based in Sydney and work with Canberra and ACT businesses remotely — calls and shared docs cover the process end to end. It's a two-and-a-half-hour flight if an in-person meeting is genuinely needed, but most projects never require one.

Does a site aimed at government-adjacent work need to look different?

Often, yes. Firms working around the public service tend to need clearer capability statements and a more restrained, credible tone than a typical small-business site — I build to that brief when it applies, rather than reusing a generic consulting template.

How long does a website take to build?

Most projects complete in 3–6 weeks. The main variable is content — once I have copy and images, build time is usually 2–3 weeks. I'll give you a clear timeline in the quote.

WordPress or custom-built?

Custom-built. I don't use WordPress or page builders — everything is hand-coded, which means faster load times, better Google rankings, and nothing to maintain or break.
